FAQ's
What is the difference between medical and non-medical in-home care?
Non-medical care provides in-home assistance with daily activities. We do not make medical assessments, provide medical services, or administer medication care. We can, however, accompany patients to doctor appointments and provide medication reminders with proper doctor instructions.
Who benefits from non-medical, in-home care services?
Anyone who has trouble completing daily tasks on their own because of physical, mental, vision, intellectual, or other disabilities. This can include patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s, dementia, ALS, blindness, etc.
Can you provide services not listed on your website?
At Dahabo Home Care, we personalize all our services to meet the unique needs of the client. The services listed provide an example of the types of services we offer, but adjustments can be made based on your specific needs. Contact us to personalize your services and get a full scope of how we can help.
How do you match caregivers with clients?
Your initial assessment will determine what types of services are right for you. Once we know what type of care you require and hear all your personal preferences, we’ll take care to match you with the right caregiver or caregivers to match your needs.
Are your caregivers professionally trained, licensed, and background checked?
Absolutely. Your safety is our top priority. As such, all members of our staff go through a background check, reference check, and training process to ensure they provide only the highest level of care.
How do you ensure consistency and quality of care?
We prioritize communication between our caregivers, patients, and care coordinators. Regular check-ins and ongoing training are just two of the ways we ensure all members of our staff are providing a consistently high level of care.
Do you offer 24-hour care?
Absolutely! We can coordinate multiple shifts per day. With our trusted caregivers, ensuring you or your loved one have continuous care both day and night. We can provide full, 24-hour care 365 days a year or we can take the shifts necessary to give family caregivers the respite they need. Check out our 24-Hour Care and Respite Care pages for more information.
How much do in-home care services cost?
At Dahabo Home Care, we believe you should be able to get the care you need without causing financial stress. Our professionals work with you to make sure you’re maximizing your Medicaid, VA, or long-term care benefits. Should your services not be covered by your health care benefits, we’ll work with you to come up with the right balance of care and cost.
Do you accept insurance, Medicaid, or long-term care policies?
Yes, in many cases, we do. Our professionals will work with you every step of the way to ensure you’re maximizing your benefits.
How do I schedule a free care assessment?
Contact us to work with a member of our staff to schedule a free non-medical in-home care assessment.
What should I expect during the initial consultation?
During your initial assessment, we’ll talk about your medical conditions, daily routines, mobility concerns, cognitive abilities, and personal preferences to build a personalized care plan around your needs. We’ll also talk to any family caregivers to see what care is already being received so we can ensure a seamless transition. This consultation is as much for you as it is for us. Make sure to bring all your preferences and questions so we can best suit your needs.
Are there any services excluded from the in-home care plan?
Our services are intended to meet the needs of the client. Because of this, we do not perform seasonal chores, home maintenance, lawn care, pet care, or care for family members and guests in the home unless a separate care plan has been made for that family member.
Contact us with any additional questions. We’re happy to assist.
